Get started

Vital brings product usage, crashes, releases, and reports into one place. You decide which sources belong together and what each source is allowed to collect.

Before you begin

Vital is currently available by request. Organization owners create source keys, and the dashboard provides website downloads and connection code. The examples here use placeholders.

Start with a product

A product is the home for everything you ship under one name. Create a product for your app, service, or tool, then add the places where people use it as sources.

  1. Create a product. An organization owner uses the product name your team will recognize, such as Example Notes.
  2. Add an App or Website source. Each source gets its own key, collection settings, events, and analytics.
  3. Choose what Vital can keep.Usage and errors start on for new sources. Country and device details start off.
  4. Connect your client.Use the setup code and downloads shown for that source in the dashboard.

Add your sources

An app and its website can live under the same product. They stay independent, so website visitors do not change app install, retention, or release numbers. This also lets you pause or change collection for one source without affecting the other.

Verify the connection

Open Live for the source, run your app or load an allowed public page, and trigger one event. Browser events are normally sent after a short batch delay. Allow up to one minute for the event to appear while the source key and summaries refresh.

Keep the source's ingest key private from other projects. A website key is expected in browser code, but it is restricted to the exact origins you approve. App keys belong in the app they were created for. Never use an account, server, or dashboard credential in client code.

Access and availability

Vital does not have public self-service signup or published pricing yet. Request access and we will help create your organization, choose the right sources, and connect the first one. The organization owner creates each source key, which is shown in full once. The source setup area also provides the authenticated website client download.
